Kiwi Syrup & Kiwi Mocktails recipe

Kiwi Syrup is very easy make with just 3 ingredients – Kiwi, Sugar and Water. Enjoy the kiwi syrup in tons of different ways.. in fruit drinks, mocktails, sherbet, on pancakes, as a filling for any baked goods and with more creative ways.. Explore and Enjoy :)..

 

 

Ingredients : ( for Kiwi Syrup                  makes 500ml )

6 golden kiwi (or green kiwi) – I used 6 gold kiwi’s
1 cup sugar
1 cup water

Method:

Step 1) Be ready with all the ingredients..

Step 2) Cut the kiwi into 2 pieces (cut in the middle of the long-body-part).
Remove the inner-centre part of the cut fruit ( the white/pale-white part in the centre of the black dotted circle) by swirling the knife around it and scooping out. ( Do for all pieces )

Step 3) Now make cuts along the inner-flesh of the kiwi with a knife and scoop the fruit into a big sauce pan. (Repeat with the rest of the kiwi and add into the sauce pan)

Step 4) To the kiwi-sauce pan, add the sugar and water and bring it to a boil.

Step 5) Once it starts boiling, let it boil for 3 minutes and reduce the heat to medium and cook for 10 minutes.

Step 6) After 10 minutes, strain the cooked kiwi into a strainer and mash the cooked kiwi fruit in the strainer like a paste using the back of a flat spoon.

Step 7) Add the mashed kiwi paste and the strained syrup into the same sauce pan and bring to a boil. ( Stir couple of times )

Step 8) Once it starts boiling, reduce to medium and cook for 10 minutes.  ( remember to stir every 3 minutes..)

Step 9) Turn off the heat… let the syrup cool to room temperature. Pour into a glass bottle and refrigerate.

Once chilled, you can start experimenting with your homemade kiwi syrup !. Enjoy :)..

1. Plain Kiwi Drink ( Kiwi Mocktail / Kiwi Sherbet )
2. Kiwi Pineapple Drink ( Kiwi Pineapple Mocktail / Sherbet )
3. Kiwi Ginger Lemon Drink ( Kiwi Ginger Lemon Mocktail / Sherbet )

  1. Plain Kiwi Drink ( Kiwi Mocktail / Kiwi Sherbet ) :
    Into a tall glass, add some icecubes, pour 1/4 cup of kiwi syrup, fill with water, (optional – soaked basil seeds / chia seeds) and stirrrrrrrr.. enjoy :)..

  2. Kiwi Pineapple Drink ( Kiwi Pineapple Mocktail / Sherbet ) :
    Into a tall glass, add some icecubes, pour 1/4 cup kiwi syrup, 1 cup of fresh pineapple puree, little water to fill the glass, soaked basil seeds or chia seeds and stirrrrrrr… pineapple kiwi drink READY !..

  3. Kiwi Ginger Lemon Drink ( Kiwi Ginger Lemon Mocktail / Sherbet ) :
    Into a tall glass, add some icecubes, pour 1/4 cup kiwi syrup, blend 1/2 tsp of ginger with a tbsp of water and strain the ginger juice and add to the glass, squeeze  half lemon, fill with water and stirrrrrrrrrr… refreshing kiwi-ginger-lemon drink is ready ! ..enjoy  :)..
    note: basil seeds are also known as ( casa casa, falooda seeds, tukmaria seeds)
